How to grow Cabbage

There are many types of cabbage, the best way however is to class them by season, i.e. spring, summer, autumn and winter.
Cabbages thrive in firm soil which has plenty of compost or farmyard manure dug in the previous autumn. A sprinkling of garden lime a few weeks before planting out helps to sweeten the soil.
